The Green Key label guarantees quality and sustainability.

Anyone who gets this label commits themselves to make major efforts in the following areas :

  • Record water and energy consumption
  • Save water and energy
  • Prevent and sort waste
  • Protect biodiversity
  • Sustainable food and transport
  • Informing and empowering guests to reduce the environmental footprint of their stay
  • Use of more ecological products for cleaning and maintaining accommodations
  • Open communication and discussion possible in terms of the environment, social responsibility and continuous improvement

All of these fields help create a collection of criteria. With this long list, Green Key is easily the most ambitious label that exists.

Green Key follows a sustainable policy in terms of :

  • Individuals : Staff, owners, directors, clients
  • Enterprise : Administration, communication, policies, purchasing, mission statement
  • Chain : Suppliers, associations, inter-municipal organisations, sector federations, partners, sponsors
  • Community : Green spaces, waste prevention, sustainable food and transport

Green Key takes it all much further with measures that help save the environment. These criteria are revised every 4 years, so that the label remains up to date with global trends. These requirements are also recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GCTC) and by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
