Holiday home for 8 people in Durbuy Aux Aguesses Buissonnières

This former small village school was converted into a holiday home and is only 5 minutes from the mediaeval town of Durbuy.
Important: We only accept rentals for 2 nights or more.

“Aux Aguesses buissonnières” welcomes you to its large living room, where the contemporary interior and raw wood frame harmonise in the light of the wood fire. This spacious and intimate atmosphere is in tune with the beautifully equipped kitchen and a piano (which await your possible culinary and musical compositions). The terrace and garden provide you with a change of scenery on the borders of Condroz, Famenne and Ardenne. The jacuzzi and the petanque track give you all the relaxation you need, enough to make your heart sing.

Aguesses is the meeting place to be:
In addition to evoking the name of the street of the holiday home, an aguesse is an old Walloon word for a magpie. It was also used as a slightly mocking nickname for a talkative person. “Tchafter come one aguesse”!
To embark on this housing project is a celebration of this encounter. An encounter with words, music, painting, cinema… all these languages already exist and are still being invented. Here is the idea: Why not make it a “bit” of the big conversations!

…Buissonnières is a former small school that was transformed into a holiday home:
We fell in love with this old little village school. It seems that… (we’re not sure, we’ve never practised it…) skipping school (“faire l’école buissonnière”) is going for a walk instead of going to class; to stroll; by extension not going to work. We want to make this cottage a peaceful place, for relaxation and healing. The idea is that we will work tomorrow (or why not Monday at 8, or 48).

Thinking outside the box is the breeding ground for creation. As artists in our spare time, we know that getting away on the beaten track is a complex process. As it is important to us to support creative people on our scale, our holiday home will be transformed from time to time into an artists’ residence.
