This renovated farmhouse is full of culture and ideal for couples and families.
The bedroom is welcoming and simple with a mix of the original styling of the house and modern improvements.
We are located 7 km from the city of Mons and 8 km from the city of Binche. This is the ideal location to visit Mons, the cultural capital of 2015 and the folklore of Binche. You can also enjoy walks in our countryside.
A gourmet buffet breakfast is included, with flexibility for the time of service.
Easy access by car and public transport. Possibility of securely storing bicycles. The residence also has spacious parking in the courtyard of the farm.
Notice to allergy sufferers: The residence is a farm and there are dogs and cats in the house.
The rooms are facing the paved and non-congested street, but there is some noise from the cars that pass. Access to the bedrooms is through an old staircase, which is quite steep for some people.
A welcome pack is located in the room and the bathroom.
The name comes on the one hand from the place called ‘La Barrière’ which goes back to the time of the stagecoaches, where there was a barrier with a right of way to go from one city to another. On the other hand, Alezane (chestnut), is the colour of the coat of our horses, the Haflingers.
Renovated farm with a twist of culture.
Ideal for couples or families.
Warm bedroom in full simplicity.
A balanced mix of modern style with traditional setting.
We are based 7 km from Mons and 8 km from Binche. Mons was the capital city of culture in 2015 and Binche is well known for its folklore. The surrounding countryside is great for walking.
We provide a generous buffet breakfast with the bedroom with flexible opening hours.
You can get here easily by public transport and by car. The farm courtyard has lots of car parking space. For those with allergies, there is a farm and there are cats and a dog in the house.
The bedrooms are on the paved road side which is very quiet but you may hear a car pass from time to time. You can get to the bedrooms by an old staircase which may be tricky for some guests. The bedroom has a welcome pack with a bathroom. The name of the place comes from the original place name “La Barrière” (the barrier) where there was a village toll back in the horse and coach travel era. Also, the light horses known as the Haflinger are breeded here by our family. We go every year to the original place of birth of this horse race in Austria to follow the latest trends and meet other breeders. Thanks to a previous stay in a B&B owned by breeders in a village in Austria, we came up with the idea of opening up our place to tourism.
