Welcome to Wallonia

Wallonia is French-speaking Belgium! Along with Flanders and Brussels, it is one of Belgium’s 3 regions. Bordering Germany, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and France, French is spoken here, but German is also spoken in the far east. Situated in the south of Belgium, Wallonia offers a diversity of hilly and varied landscapes. Namur is the capital of this Belgian region. Its highest point is the Signal de Botrange at 694 m. A river, the Meuse, crosses its territory. It is made up of 5 provinces (Walloon Brabant, Hainaut, Namur, Liège and Luxembourg).

You think Wallonia is a flat country ? Think again ! Wallonia boasts a diversity of landscapes and hilly regions: hilly country, country of valleys, country of forests, etc. Along the way, you’ll discover charming little towns and villages such as Dinant, Bouillon, Waterloo, Spa, Chimay, Saint-Hubert and many more. The region abounds in natural treasures (rivers, forests, rocks, etc.). It has countless nature reserves, parks, gardens and caves, all of which are real natural treasures and a testament to its natural wealth. But it’s also the bucolic charm of its countryside.

To the south of this region lies the Ardennes, a veritable green lung. It is the greenest region in the country, dotted with picturesque, authentic villages. The region is criss-crossed by a number of crystal-clear rivers and streams, and is made up of numerous green, wooded valleys. It’s an ideal terrain for walks and hikes, or cycling for the more adventurous.

Wallonia is the perfect destination for getting away from it all, relaxing or escaping on your own, as a couple, with your family or with friends !
