A comfortable cottage in the beautiful High Fens Natural Park, 200 m from the Vennbahn (RAVEL 48) and rail bikes. Characterful house, renovated, set in a large beautiful garden with children’s games. Located on the Belgian-German border, 8 km from Monschau. Osterglocken is located in the vast greenery of the High Fens Natural Park; the forest and the picturesque Rur river are nearby. The house is spacious, equipped for 10 people, and has been completely renovated to meet modern comfort standards, while respecting its authentic Ardennes character. Osterglocken is located in the small hamlet of Küchelscheid (municipality of Bütgenbach). Surrounded by nature, Küchelscheid is also an ideal starting point for many excursions. The charming town of Monschau is only 7 km away. Malmedy and Eupen are 25 km away. In Germany, you have Aachen (45 km), Cologne (90 km), Bonn (100 km), Koblenz (110 km), in the Netherlands Maastricht (85 km)… Want to go on bike trips on the beautiful Vennbahn (RAVEL 48) or the Rur-Ufer Radweg, or a sporty mountain bike tour through forest paths? Prefer a long hike on the Grand Randonnées (GR) or in the High Fens? Or enjoy water activities in summer or Rail-Biking? Cross-country skiing in winter? Küchelscheid offers all of this. The highest point in Belgium, Signal de Botrange, is only 13 km away by bike, through the forest! Lake Bütgenbach with the Worriken sports center (beach, swimming, …) is 16 km away. Osterglocken will offer you an unforgettable stay, with family or friends!
We are Anne-lies Vanmechelen and Robby Mast, and we fell in love with the nature of the High Fens. That’s why we live ourselves in Küchelscheid.
We designed Osterglocken to be a house where we wanted to live ourselves, starting from our own vision that connects the love for authentic architecture with modern forms, colors, and comfort. It’s about the harmony between the old and the modern, between man and nature.
The very location of the house already invites respect for nature, flowers, animals… and the human beings who are its guests, adults and children…
Ecological awareness and ‘sustainability’ are our basic attitudes. We have transformed the vast garden with large trees (the previous owner was a forester) into a paradise where children can play freely..
