Holiday home - Anhée - Gîte de la Froche
View
Ideal to gather as a family or with friends. Numerous tourist attractions: Remains, castles, abbeys, caves, hikes, railbikes, kayaking, etc. Farming and wooded landscapes, villages in local stone. Shops nearby.
Bioul is found in the Molignée Valley, well known for its fortresses and its castles. Here, the Condroz provides you with agricultural and wooded landscapes and villages built of local stone which makes this place one of the most beautiful sites of interest in Wallonia. In the heart of the Bioul village, the Froche holiday home is ideal for family reunions or catch-ups with friends.
Nearby, you have a bakery, a butcher’s, a pharmacy, a small shop that is open every day of the week and a tasty pizza parlour.
In 1500, this holiday home was a farm. By observing the nearby houses, you can tell what the architecture looked like at the time. Back then, the farm was part of the Bioul Castle and owned by a wealthy knight.
The building was renovated and restored with the material that was used at the time: Exposed stone, barrel vaults, wood and clay.
The barn was transformed in 2009 and we installed a beautiful ping-pong and games room full of light with its bow window overlooking the garden. Children can build railway tracks with metallic duplo sets while the adults can also enjoy themselves. There is a wide selection of board games to enjoy.
Outdoors, there is a large paved terrace (BBQ possible) with night lighting. The large closed garden with swings and a slide are visible from the terrace.
If you want to discover the region, your host will provide you with all the things you can do according to the time of the year. You have a rich choice of walks, local folklore, children outings, cultural visits, castles, remains, caves, abbeys, kayaking, handcars, cycling, natural reserves, culinary treats, and restaurants. There is a bit of something for everyone and every age. We have lots of brochures and maps of the region at the property.
If you need to do lots of shopping, there are commercial zones at Mettet and Wépion only 15 minutes away by car. You are also only 20 minutes from Namur and Dinant.

The owners
Laurence CROONENBORGHS & Alexia SUBERT
Alexia and Laurence have always dreamed of creating a paradise for creating good memories for family and friend reunions. In 2015, they started working on this dream.
Their children, Sasha and Noé were a source of inspiration for the initial phase of the works. It was clear that this place also needed to be child-friendly.
The children continued to grow up over the years. This additional source of inspiration resulted in the creation of 2 additional spaces full of light: The table tennis area in the former barn and bright games room in the former hay-loft.
