Holiday home - Ath - La Grange
View
This completely renovated barn with a kitchen opens to the living room, 3 cosy bedrooms, a terrace and a large garden As a peaceful and quiet place, you also have a unique opportunity to visit the Pairi Daiza animal park and its surroundings.
Les Gîtes de la Rouge Cense is a place that is particularly close to our hearts and that we have created with you in mind, so that it brings you comfort and serenity during your stay. A haven of peace, surrounded by nature as revitalising as it is inspiring, where a calm and relaxed lifestyle reign.
To discover the soul of this place, we invite you to undertake a journey through time. Our lodgings have come a long way to reveal their charms of today. The story began in September 2001, when we acquired this old farmhouse. At the time, the development work focused on the main building. However, little by little, the idea of transforming the barn and the outhousing into holiday homes began to germinate, to finally hatch in 2016.
We let this project mature, evolve and grow until 2019, the year in which the major transformations began. Two weathered buildings with cracked walls housing a dusty old tractor and a coal stove. The challenge was therefore daunting! This is why we first called on the expertise and know-how of an architect and a contractor to carry out the structural work. Then our handyman skills took over, quite simply because we wanted to add our personal touch. As travel lovers with a taste for bargain-hunting, it was important to us to choose the materials, the furniture, as well as each decorative element. Furniture was often restored using our personal touch, crockery found through garage sales and intense research. A mismatched set, which looks like us, and which allowed us to create the universe we dreamed of. An investment that required time, a lot of compromises and a huge dose of energy, not to mention that touch of enthusiasm that carried us over the months. To finally end in January 2022.
We will be happy to welcome you there.
