"Osterglocken" - "narcissus" in German - is a hundred-year-old cottage that is located just 200 m from the RAVeL 48 and the footbike “draisines”. The forest is a few hundred meters away and, from the window, there is a magnificent view of the green valley of the Schwarzbach, the German village of Kalterherberg and the exclave of Ruytzhof.
The house can welcome 10 people, and was completely renovated in 2014 to meet modern comfort standards, while respecting its authentic Ardennes character. Osterglocken has a very large landscaped garden (2360 m²), with the character of a small park, equipped with multiple children games. Moreover, the cottage is fully equipped to accommodate young and old guests.
The house is located in the small hamlet of Küchelscheid, in the middle of the green immensity of the "Hautes Fagnes-Eifel/Nationalpark Eifel Nature Park", and walking distance from the German border and the picturesque Rour/Rur river.
Surrounded by nature, Küchelscheid is also the ideal starting point for many excursions. The little gem of Monschau is only 7 km away.
Malmedy and Eupen are 25 km away. In Germany, you have Aachen (45 km), Cologne (90 km), Bonn (100 km), Koblenz (110 km), Maastrict (85 km), and more.
In the Eifel region there are historical and natural sights to discover.
Do you fancy cycling tours on the beautiful Vennbahn (RAVeL 48) or the Rur-Ufer Radweg? Do you prefer a sporty mountain bike tour through forest paths? Our names are Anne-lies Vanmechelen and Robby Mast, and we fell in love with the nature of the Hautes Fagnes. That's why we also live in Küchelscheid.
We designed Osterglocken to be a home where we wanted to live ourselves, starting from our own vision that connects the love for authentic architecture with modern shapes, colors and comfort. It is about the harmony between ancient and modern worlds, where humankind meets nature.
The very location of the house already invites respect for nature, flowers, animals... and the human beings who are its guests, adults and children...
Ecological awareness and "sustainability" are our basic values. We have transformed the vast garden with tall trees (the former owner was a forester) into a paradise where children can play freely.
